If there’s one thing you can count on Abercrombie & Fitch for, it’s trendy and versatile clothing. Sure, you could say that about a bunch of different brands, but AB&F is different. As a shopping editor and someone who buys from Abercrombie both in-store and online, I know a thing or two about its stellar offerings. I also know a thing or two about brands like Abercrombie, in case you’ve already ordered everything from AB&F and need some new names in your closet.
Best Brands Like Abercrombie, at a Glance

Best Boho: Free People
Best Dupes: Quince

Best Affordable Basics: Old Navy
But back to Abercrombie serving up styles that follow trends and present timeless silhouettes. Not many retailers and brands can master both, but there is a handful that comes pretty dang close. When searching for brands like Abercrombie, I first and foremost thought about whether a store offers stylish and classic pieces. While these two elements are AB&F’s bread and butter, I additionally considered price points. Abercrombie sits in the middle of the price spectrum. You won’t find H&M-level tags, but you also won’t find Saks Fifth Avenue numbers. Brands like Abercrombie should cost somewhere in between the two. Think Madewell, Everlane, and Zara.
Now that you’ve got an idea of how I landed on the best brands like Abercrombie, it’s time to get scrolling (and shopping!). Below, find five brands like Abercrombie so you can build a wardrobe with garments that’ll earn you compliments and serve you well for years to come.
-
Madewell
Just like Abercrombie, Madewell makes durable denim, as well as basics that you can style with pretty much everything in your closet. The price points are also similar across the different product categories. For example, a pair of linen pants at Madewell costs $88, while a pair at Abercrombie costs $80. Whether you’re after straight-leg jeans, a cardigan, or a vest top, you won’t have trouble finding Abercrombie-adjacent options at Madewell.

Everlane
Everlane follows in Abercrombie’s footsteps in that it’s known for making modern wardrobe staples that can weather more than just one trend cycle. Take it from me, someone who owns plenty of pieces from the brand. Its garments are not only super stylish but also made to last. A bonus is that Everlane doesn’t do markups, shares the actual costs behind its products (i.e. materials, labor, and transportation), and sells its clothing for reasonable prices.

American Eagle
Personally, I think American Eagle jeans are on the same level as Abercrombie. As someone who has an extensive denim collection (everything from MOTHER to Levi’s), I love a high-low mix. AE is my “low”-end denim pick that fits like a luxury designer. You get quality, tried-and-true denim that fits all body types—and for a good price (AE jeans are literally always on sale). I also love AE jeans when I want to try on a trendy denim style but don’t want to commit with a more exclusive brand (i.e. barrel jeans or the super baggy ’90s jeans).
American Eagle also does casual sweaters and tops really well, too. After giving birth six months ago, I restocked my winter and spring wardrobe with a ton of loose-fitting tops from AE and they’re my go-to everyday wear. Like Abercrombie, AE skews younger—but it’s what I’ve personally been wearing since I was 15!
American EagleStrigid Mom JeanOn Sale 26% offSizes available: 000-20, short, long, and regularWashes available: 3
I now get to wear mom jeans in earnest! I love AE’s mom jeans (and any more “retro”-fitting, high-waist jean option) because they simultaneously hug and frame your assets while providing enough stretch to be comfortable. I love the torn hem and lived-in wash—these are so stunning for the price and look way more expensive than they are.
Big Hug Henley SweatshirtOn Sale 67% offSizes available: XXS-XXLColorways available: 2
This is one of the many AE sweatshirts I live in from fall until end of spring. I’m currently loving the “Big Hug” henley, which is oversized, ultra-soft, and has a Rowing Blazers look that I think is so cool and timeless. It’s warm, but not too heavy, so great for chillier days.

Zara
Zara is a great Abercrombie alternative if you’re looking for similar styles, trends, and silhouettes but at less of a cost. For those shopping on a tighter budget, you’ll be happy to find out that Zara’s price tags tend to be on average around $20 cheaper than Abercrombie’s.
Satin Effect Halter TopSizes available: XS-LColor options: 3
Zara does such a fantastic job with “going out” tops that don’t cost a fortune, yet look like they’re taken straight from the runway. For a classic, liquid-y top that goes with either jeans (casual) or skirt (dressy), this halter is visually gorgeous and versatile. I also love the coffee-themed colorways for a more neutral take on spring fashion.
Striped Knit DressSizes available: S, M, LColor options: 1
This dress is so Ted Baker (RIP) coded to me! I love the unexpected green and brown pairing that’s very ’70s and fun.

Free People
Free People, Anthropologie’s boho little sister brand, has been the ultimate destination for free spirit fringe, ruffles, puffy sleeves, and other whimsical designs and fits. It’s slightly more expensive than Abercrombie, but it’s got a similar vibe. Where Abercrombie is more preppy, Free People is way more…flow-y. I think Free People shines with its unique tops and dresses—you can find crop top button-ups and maxi or midi dresses for the beach that feel and look interesting.
We the Free Bailey Stripe ShirtSizes available: XS-XLColorways/patterns available: 6
If you’re thinking “not another striped button-up!” but still need a striped button-up, this frilly, fun striped shirt is a striking option.
Good Feels Halter MidiSizes available: XS-XLColorways/patterns available: 4
Free People isn’t all florals and tie-dye patterns, I swear. It does do simple, too. This “sometimes less is more” black halter dress is so versatile, but I can easily imagine in on your next beach vacation.

Quince
Even though Quince might be one of the lesser-known names on this list, it’s high time it got the recognition it deserves. Quince prides itself on making high-quality essentials at low prices, and I can wholeheartedly confirm this is true. You get exactly what you think you’re getting, but perhaps even better (the quality, in particular, continues to surprise me time after time). I’m talking Mongolian cashmere, Italian leather, Turkish cotton, and washable silk for much less. You can’t go wrong with any of Quince’s offerings, but check out our team’s review if you need a little extra guidance. After browsing both brands’ sites, I can already point out Quince styles for anywhere from $10 to $60 less than similar Abercrombie pieces.

Aritzia
When I think of brands like Abercrombie, my mind almost immediately goes to Aritzia. They both serve up incredibly versatile basics that are high-quality and on-trend. However, as you might’ve already guessed, Aritzia will ring you up for more. But don’t let that scare you off from shopping the site; once you feel the fabrics and put them on your body, you’ll understand.

Old Navy
Old Navy, the more affordable GAP and Banana Republic spin-off brand, leans younger and more fun. One of the brand’s core strengths is their trendy denim—but I’ve been buying basics like striped T-shirts and pajamas for years. The quality is decent for the price, and the designs are fresh. Abercrombie is definitely more “elevated” than Old Navy—like, I probably wouldn’t buy an Old Navy dress to wear to a wedding, whereas Abercrombie absolutely has gorgeous options. But for everyday basics and jeans, Old Navy is a great choice (and they’re always having a sale).
Extra High-Waisted Mariner Wide-Leg PantsOn Sale 60% offSizes available: 0-30Color options: 4
These soft canvas, super wide leg jeans are fun and come in four different colors—although I love a black jean because it goes with everything. Since it’s 98 percent cotton, expect a rigid fit.
